KidXpress is a community based outreach program of
A Word with You Press. We provide workshops for kids designed to create enthusiasm for writing and the Arts: to encourage them to find their Q; their gift, their "voice".
We offer free mentoring programs for kids to help uncover and nurture their hidden talent and to help build their confidence. Our programs are for kids who already read and write. We welcome families who encourage their children to use their imagination and want to find ways to stimulate their right brain activity. We believe that kids are victims of cuts in school spending and that public education only focuses on curricula designed to keep learning in a box.
KidXpress encourages kids to express their originality. Our mentors strive to crank up each student's ability as a writer by facilitating and stimulating free thinking. We create an environment that cultivates reflection, observation, self-expression, and effective communication skills. Our mentors are writers and artists and they will work with the kids. When kids see adults writing and sketching, they are more likely to expand their attempts.
Writers need a purposeful goal for their efforts. We will publish our kids work in an anthology to help boost self-esteem and add their work to our website AWordwithYouPress.com
