"Be part of the thread in life that honors what came before and considers what will be in the future."
Kids have more power and options than they realize. Hence the expression "youth is wasted on the young." My goal is to help kids (and adults) become more aware of their potential to impact the world in positive ways. Most of the 7 billion humans on Earth have a small world view. People produce more than they realize; unfortunately what they produce is often waste and pollution. I observe our shared experiences and strive to contribute to positive change by offering simple options that produce more positive results. I am a writer. That is my Q. I have started 2 books, ONE of 7 Billion and The Hat that Fits. I want to return to my first career as a teacher. By writing, I hope to teach kids of all ages to be productive, not destructive. This is Another Beginning; if children are taught that they are part of a very big story, including 7 billion people who are sharing their planet, their life will have more meaning. If kids are made aware at an early age that billions of humans have "walked the same path," it will add perspective to their journey. All humans need encouragement to find their voice, their Q, and recognize that during their life they have the potential to impact Earth. As more people take responsibility, taking better care of themselves and their environment, this basic wisdom of the native peoples will continue to be passed forward. | "A good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help another up."
Simple thoughts planted early in life will help create change. The concept Pay it Forward teaches kids about opportunities to contribute to their world. Kids observe and mimic adult behavior. The good news is that many media stories now report how famous people are doing great things. But media attention is focused more on the law breakers, addicts, and abusers than on the "good deed doers". If kids were encouraged at an early age to think about paying it forward and be conscious of what they produce, they will grow up considering an important tenet: "What have I done today?" Pay it forward is a great way to be part of positive action. All parents should teach their kids to find ways of producing positive results. Kids used to be "seen and not heard" but now the world changes so fast that it is only the kids who can keep up with it. They are the ONES who will be here to face the consequences of all of our actions. |
